Title.
US Products are so hard to purchase since most online stores in the US do not ship internationally. What a pain in the rear!!! I live in Australia and have been trying to find a laptop. I searched at Best Buy, Tiger Direct, and eBatts.com. All had good deals on laptops, but NONE of them shipped internationally. US Products should be easy to get in my opinion. They have the greatest market in the world, but if you live in Australia, it is virtually impossible to get what you want.
My search online continued. I assumed that I could find someone in the US that would possibly buy some US products for me and ship them to Australia. Yeah right! I tried that once and the person I used was an idiot. They messed up all the paperwork and it took me over 3 weeks to get my items.
The search continued. About 1 month ago, I came across a company called Bongo International. They offer parcel forwarding services for individuals that live in over 200 countries. How cool! I had live chat with them on their website and they answered my questions well enough that I decided to take a chance. I was still a little hesitant about them, but figured it was worth the $15.00. After all, the costs of laptops are about 50% lower in the states than in Australia
There was some documentation that had to be signed in order for them to legally be allowed to accept my US products to their warehouse. I took care of that within a day and was completely set up in 2 days. They received my first order on 1/25/08 and logged it online in my online us mailbox.
Ok. The process seems to be working. Therefore, I made another purchase at Tiger Direct. This time, I went for some larger items. I got a Home Theater System that weighed about 25lbs.
Once the new system arrived at Bongo's warehouse, I had them consolidate my eBatts order and my TigerDirect order into one. This shipment consolidation process saved me over $50 USD! I confirmed the shipping charges of $218.07 (37lbs) and the shipment arrived to Melbourne in 3 days!
Well, I have officially found the new way to shop! I will now be buying ALL my online purchases in the states. Finding US products has never been so easy. Who cares if the vendor doesn't ship internationally! I would probably pay more if I used them directly anyhow!
